Miss America Diner, Jersey City
After 85 years of slinging eggs and burgers, this Jersey City landmark has closed. “It is with extreme sadness we announce that the Miss America Diner will be closing her doors,” read a message posted to the diner’s Facebook page late last month. The building will reportedly be taken over by another local establishment, the nearby Italian deli Salumeria Ercolano.
Arnold’s Family Market, North Wildwood
This popular spot, known for its family-operated kitchen and deli, announced that it will be closing on Saturday, December 13.

Vette Ristorante at Calabria, Livingston
A new Italian fine-dining experience has opened inside Calabria Restaurant & Pizzeria. Vette elevates the traditional trattoria with a menu featuring thoughtfully curated wine pairings and the vision of chef/sommelier Maurizio de Rosa.
Chef de Rosa draws on more than 30 years of global culinary experience—from his roots in Naples to Michelin-level kitchens in New York and Buenos Aires—to bring his passion to Vette. “Dining is more than a meal—it’s a story that begins when the guest arrives and ends when they walk away satisfied,” says chef de Rosa. “My goal for Vette at Calabria is to create a warm, welcoming environment where every dish and glass tells that story.”
Sekai Hibachi at the American Dream Mall, East Rutherford
This high-end hibachi restaurant is part of a new destination within American Dream called Dream360, which also includes a lively sports bar, a cocktail lounge and TopGolf Swing Suites. It’s family-friendly over lunch, then elevated and energetic after dark, with DJs, cocktails and a sleek, social atmosphere—perfect for groups or date night. Sekai serves sushi, rice and noodle dishes, and hibachi.
Greens and Grains, Glassboro
Greens and Grains will open on the campus of Rowan University on Monday, November 10. The eatery serves breakfast bowls, pita sandwiches, ciabatta sandwiches, salads and more.
Paris Baguette, Moorestown
This Korean-French bakery chain will open its first South Jersey location near the Moorestown Mall on Thursday, November 20.
Dining news
Korai Kitchen, a James Beard Award-winning restaurant in Jersey City run by a mother-daughter duo, was recently awarded three stars by the New York Times. It was also named a Critic’s Pick. The review notes that the pair serve an incomparable Bangladeshi menu. Dinner, priced at $95 per person, is only available on Friday and Saturday nights. The chef, Nur-E Gulshan Rahman, was nominated for a James Beard Award for best chef in the Mid-Atlantic region last year.
