Woodshed Pizza Opens Quaint Brick-and-Mortar in Point Pleasant; More Food News

A new pizzeria has opened at the Shore. Woodshed Pizzeria Napoletana is a quaint dine-in-only pizzeria, serving 12-inch wood-fired pizzas that are made in a large wood-burning oven imported from Naples, Italy. Woodshed also serves appetizers, such as meatballs and wings, and a variety of salads. The establishment, which is an expansion of Woodshed’s mobile pizza company, is BYO; though wine is also sold on site.

At this fine Italian steakhouse, just minutes from the Hudson River and George Washington Bridge, classic Italian dishes are served in an earthy, classy, greenery-covered dining room. LaNoma’s menu features antipasti, pizza, pasta dishes; fish, chicken and steak entrées; desserts, signature cocktails and Italian wines. The restaurant is open daily for dinner; on Friday and Saturday nights, it’s open until 2 am.
2010 Hudson Street

This bakery has been selling gluten-free sweets since 2013. Its first brick-and-mortar location opened in Egg Harbor City in 2015. Chef/owner Jenna Kisby is gluten-free herself, and she wanted to make gluten-free treats more accessible to South Jersey residents. She recently opened her second location in Ocean City—just a few blocks off the beach—and serves the same fan-favorite baked goods as her flagship location: cinnamon buns, jumbo cookies, pop tarts, cookies and much more.

The only Jersey location of this fast-casual breakfast chain will shutter after its final day on Saturday, August 31. Effin Egg, which sold craft breakfast burritos and sandwiches, opened in Morristown back in March 2023. Just a little over a year later, the team went on Instagram to announce it will be suspending operations “until further notice” due to “the current economic climate, shaped by recent policy changes and rising food costs.”

Last week, the owners of this longtime bakery announced on social media that they would be closing shop by the end of the month. “Over the last 15 years here, I have baked many buns, but this is my favorite & most important, thus far,” the post read, paired with a photo of a cinnamon bun, ultrasound photos and an image of a onesie that says “homemade buns.” With a new baby on the way, the couple decided to close the bakery—which sold popular items like mini brioche pastries, cakes and cinnamon buns.
