Capon’s Chophouse, Hackensack 

Celebrity chef Josh Capon, who has appeared on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay, is opening his first New Jersey restaurant at The Shops at Riverside later this year. Capon’s Chophouse will be a modern steakhouse, offering elevated yet approachable prime cuts, seafood and more. It will occupy the space previously held by The Grill at Riverside. Capon owns three establishments in New York City: Little Maven, ITO and the members-only Flyfish Club.

La Valse des Fleurs, Englewood

Fusing a European-style café with a floral boutique, this new spot serves specialty coffees, pastries, croissants and crepes.

The Coach Coffee Shop, Elizabeth

This café, launched by the Coach brand, is located at The Mills at Jersey Gardens. This kiosk within the mall, designed by Coach’s creative director, brings to life Coach’s New York roots. It serves coffee and small sweets.

Cuban Eddie’s, Saddlebrook

Open now, this is the fifth Jersey location for the small Cuban restaurant chain. It serves serve seafood, sandwiches, Cuban burritos, salads and more.

Porto by Chef Jason, Robbinsville

Chef Jason Dilts’s new restaurant, featuring an upscale casual Italian menu, opens its doors on Friday, October 10.
