The Morris Proper, Morristown

This new 12,000-square-foot restaurant will open July 9 in M Station West, a new development between the Morristown Green and the train station. David Felton, the founding executive chef of Ninety Acres, the farm-to-table restaurant in Peapack and Gladstone (and one of NJM‘s favorites), will head the kitchen. The menu will feature elevated comfort food.

Albatross, Edison

This new 50,000-square-foot indoor entertainment complex features 32 lanes of luxury indoor bowling and indoor mini golf, plus music, dining and cocktails. The menu includes salads, artisan pizzas and shareable appetizers.

Half Baked, Mahwah

Half Baked, the beloved online bakery known for its decadent Chonker cookies and creative desserts, is opening its first brick-and-mortar location on July 19. Since launching online, Half Baked has built a loyal following for its handcrafted treats, custom orders and playful takes on classic American desserts. Owner Chrissy Carlino is excited to bring her signature sweets to the Mahwah community via an official storefront.

Mykos, Northvale

From the owners behind the popular Italian restaurant Verana in Norwood, this new Greek restaurant offers handmade pita bread and dishes such as shrimp kataifi (phyllo-wrapped jumbo shellfish) and caper butter-topped Chilean sea bass.

Gigi’s Café, Saddle Brook

The café offers espresso drinks, smoothies, fresh juices and power shakes, as well as acai and fruit bowls, waffles, toasts, empanadas and baked goods.

Plus: Millburn Deli expands to Bridgewater, while Basking Ridge readies for a café/bakery by a local gingerbread aficionado.

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, which means “chain of roasters,” was originally birthed when the French King Louis IX ordered the establishment of professional guilds.
