The No. 2 seeded Blooming Prairie baseball team held on to beat No. 7 Spring Grove (11-9 overall) by a score of 5-4 in a Section 1A Tournament game in Riverland Saturday.
The Lions had a runner on second in the final frame, but BP pitcher Alex Lea, who went the distance in the win, was able to close it out.
After trailing 2-0, BP did all of its damage in the bottom of the fourth, where it scored five times. Lukas DenHerder knocked in two runs for BP (12-5 overall).
BP will play No. 3 Southland in a Section 1A quarterfinal at Riverland at 4 p.m. Monday.
