Isabelle Bertill Solberg – Austin Daily Herald

Isabelle Bertill Solberg, age 91, of Austin, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society Comforcare.

Isabelle was born on June 10, 1933 in Lansing Township, Minnesota to Harold and Rose Allard of Austin.  She attended Pacelli Catholic School in Austin.  She didn’t finish school because her mother was in an accident and she stayed home to care for her.

On October 23, 1950 she was united in marriage to Edward Marcus Solberg at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin.  They were married for 74 years and raised three children.  Isabelle was a stay at home mother.  She loved being a mom.

Isabelle and Edward traveled to Germany to see their first grandchild, they took a cruise to Hawaii and traveled a lot in the United States.  They also loved camping.

She is survived by two children, Diane (Tom) Arends, Austin, MN, Steve (Janelle) Solberg, Morris, IL; seven grandchildren, Aimee (Jamie) Arends, Rochester, MN, Debra Arends, Owatonna, MN, Shanon (Scott) Norman, Cologne, MN, Tony Bell (Samantha Eslinger), Austin, MN, Jason (Sarah) Solberg, Oswego, IL, Christina (Aaron) Kuzava, Minooka, IL, Joshua (Ashley) Solberg, Channahon, IL; fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Solberg; parents, Harold and Rose Allard; brother, Richard Allard; sister-in-law, Gloria Allard; sister, Rosella Josephson; daughter, Cheryl Bell; son-in-law, Mike Bell; great granddaughter, Naysha Arends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with Father Thien Nguyen officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary.  Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
