Firefighters were able to get a quick hold of a fire at a rural Brownsdale residence late Tuesday afternoon.
According to Brownsdale Fire Chief Dave Pike, Brownsdale firefighters were dispatched to a call of a house fire in the 60000 block of 250th Avenue at around 4:35 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The first firefighters on the scene were quickly able to put out the blaze, located in the basement, and keep it confined to a small area.
Pike said that damage to the house involved a portion of an exterior wall. Nobody was injured as residents of the home were able to leave before firefighters arrived and the exact cause remains under investigation.
Both Rose Creek and Dexter fire departments were auto-requested for mutual aid.
