We have bad news for those of you who were hoping to sink into the Chicago emergency scene on Wednesday, January 15, 2024.
You’ll be waiting at least a week before seeing more of your favorite shows.
So, what’s happening tonight?
It’s been four years since President Biden took office, and he’ll be saying his farewells in a national address.
While we don’t expect his speech to take more than about 15 minutes, the full 8/7c hour is reserved for his speech.
Since we are expecting an epic three-hour crossover between Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD, it makes sense to pull those shows so that this can continue as planned.
Another option would have been to spread the love around, airing original Chicago Fire and Chicago PD episodes tonight and pulling them after a new Chicago Med next Wednesday, but that’s not ideal.
Fans have come to love the interconnected stories, and even if they’re not interconnecting, they appreciate having three full hours of Chicago goodness at their fingertips.
There are some big stories ahead, too.
Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 9 delivered one of its best hours with a beloved teammate in jeopardy and Dr. Abrams meeting his match.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 9 found Joe Cruz making a personal blunder that was tied to the firehouse that could wind up costing him everything — his job, his friends, and his family.
And finally, after providing some much-appreciated backstory for Kiana on Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 9, the upcoming episode promises a big arc for Ruzek as a mysterious child haunts him during an investigation.
There are significant stories in play in the Chicago Universe.
While we don’t want to wait to find out what happens, we’ll happily delay our excitement so that we can view them all together.
Are you bummed that your favorite shows won’t be on the air tonight?
By all means, share your unhappiness about this little misadventure in the comments below.
We can all psych ourselves up to gather together next week with a One Chicago party!
