Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains launches film commission

Pennsylvania‘s Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau has announced the launch of its Sports, Entertainment, and Film Commission.

The northeastern US state’s press release confirmed the commission’s goal is to highlight the various qualities of the region to attract sports, entertainment, and film productions.

“The formation of the Pocono Mountains Sports, Entertainment and Film Commission marks a significant milestone in our efforts to leverage the natural beauty and existing infrastructure of the Poconos to attract major events and productions.

“We are excited about the economic opportunities this will bring to our communities,” said Chris Barrett, President/CEO of Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau in a statement.

Productions to film in the Poconos include 2021’s The Virtuoso starring Anthony Hopkins and Abbie Cornish for Lionsgate.
