WALSTON — An area resident is about to have an exciting weekend at the Miss Pennsylvania Teen USA pageant.
Jacinda Gigliotti, Walston, a 2024 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School with plans to attend Slippery Rock University for early childhood education, is going to compete in the pageant, which she competed in last year as well.
“I absolutely loved it, so that is what made me want to compete again this year,” Gigliotti said. “When I was younger, I participated in little beauty pageants, nothing super big, just for fun, which is what got me into it.”
Gigliotti said that she attended her first pageant in Monroeville when she was 10 years old.
“The ones I’ve competed in have been around here, Monroeville and Johnstown,” she said. “The training preparing for a pageant is very time consuming; I think the main reason I got into it was because I always looked up to people who participated in pageants.”
