Enjoy Belmar In The Off Season

Once the summer crowds wind down after Labor Day, “local summer” begins in Belmar and in other towns along the Jersey Shore.

Belmar beach is free to access after Labor Day, and the ocean is still warm and refreshing throughout most of September. We’ve even enjoyed beach days in early October when Mother Nature brings us summerlike weather.

The Belmar boardwalk is a great place to walk or run throughout most of the fall and even into the winter if you bundle up.

Belmar restaurants and downtown shops are open year-round, so there is always something to do on the weekends and during the week. Belmar’s public tennis and pickleball courts are open as weather permits, and you will catch some amazing fall sunsets at the Belmar Marina, overlooking the picturesque Shark River and the nearby fleet of commercial fishing boats.

There are shopping malls and outlets nearby, plenty of grocery store options, and area attractions such as the Asbury Park boardwalk.

Community events such as the Belmar Feast of San Gennaro, the Belmar Pro Surfing Competition, and local flea markets take place in the fall as they days turn crisp and the leaves start to turn.

The Jersey Shore lifestyle is unlike any other you will ever experience, no matter what time of year you are able to get out and enjoy everything that the area has to offer. Read all about it on our Belmar Beachcomber Blog.
