MAJOR 2A VICTORIES in New Jersey by three separate judges including today in a case entitled NSSF v. Platkin involving a New Jersey “nuisance” statute that applies to the gun industry. Judge Zahid N. Quraishi ruled that NJ’s nuisance statute was preempted by Congress’s 2005 preemption law entitled Protection in Lawful Commerce of Arms Act (PLCAA). Judge Quraishi’s order comes on the heels of favorable 2A rulings by Judge Renee Marie Bumb and by Judge Karen Williams. Mark Smith breaks it all down for us.
